Trincadeira

Trincadeira or Tinta Amarela

 This red grape variety with a great deep ruby colour. It has great red fruit flavours of strawberries and raspberries. This is matched with black pepper, herbaceous and floral notes. It is grown throughout Portugal and used in the production of many red wines. The variety suits drier soils and warm conditions because it is very prone to rot in wet areas. The main regions are the Douro, Alentejo and Tejo.
